Sylvia is the glue that holds us together. Commonly referred to as Brett's better half, Sylvia has been with Heliflite since day one. She is responsible for the business administration and is most likely the bubbly voice you hear at the other end of the phone when you ring us.
Dan is our most experienced pilot and Flight Instructor. Dan is a Christchurch lad who joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1995 as an 18 year old. Fifteen years in the Air Force saw him deployed to operations in Bougainville, Antarctica, Australia, Fiji and East Timor flying the venerable Huey. He was also lucky enough to be part of the Red Checkers display team before seeing the light and returning to the helicopter fold. Dan left the RNZAF as an A-Cat Instructor in Fixed and Rotary wing in 2010 and now flies a rescue helicopter for Northland Emergency Services Trust, as well as running things here at Heliflite. Dan is a civil A-Cat Instructor and General Aviation Flight Examiner.
Alex is is our swiss army knife - he does everything! A qualified instructor as well as being a commercial pilot, Alex does a lot of the training from our Ardmore base. Alex is also experienced in the commercial world of flying and spends almost every day in the air on all sorts of missions. He also acts as logistics manager for Heliflite. Our "go-to" guy for almost all tasks, if you book a flight with us, you will most likely talk to or fly with him.
Jamie is a third generation helicopter pilot, having followed in his parents, and grandfathers footsteps in becoming a commercial helicopter pilot. He has always wanted to fly since an early age, and realised his dream training as one of Heliflite's first CPL students. Since gaining his wings, he has flown commercially with Heliflite and specialises in photography and film work flying.
Nick is our newest addition. After his training he worked as ground crew for an agricultural helicopter company before departing the aviation industry to embark on other passions. He is a skilled, keen pilot with good business sense.
Dan is the man that keeps our machines in the air. He is responsible for keeping our helicopters airworthy and in pristine condition. A total perfectionist, Dan takes his time to do the job right every time. A true asset to Heliflite, Dan is a real jack of all trades and is the man to talk to if you have any queries or questions about our helicopters. Dan is also currently training to become a licensed helicopter pilot
